Micah Amezquita
Hello, My name is Micah,
I am serving the Lord at a Christian camp in Poland. We reach pastors, churches, youth groups, and refugees from across Poland and throughout Europe. This ministry serves as a refuge from the world around them, giving them a chance to focus on Jesus in a safe, loving, and fun environment.
Poland is a country in Eastern Europe situated strategically between Western Europe and Eastern Europe, and is often considered the gateway to the East, or where the East meets the West. Its centuries-long history dating back to 900 AD is littered with wars and constant domination by other countries and kingdoms, each eager for their slice of the valuable geography that Poland offered. Modern-day Poland is bordered by Germany to the west, and Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia to the East. Poland is a Salvic country and Polish is a Slavic-based language.
Because of Poland's history with communism, people are bondaged by distrust and skepticism, enslaved by alcoholism and drug use, and deceived by the occult. The geography of Poland is dotted with abandoned nazi concentration camps, communist buildings, and remnants of decades of communist rule.
Out of this barrenness lies a spiritual wasteland and a people who remember that not too long ago, an offered smile was an attempt at surveillance. This ministry allows us the perfect place to build bridges within not only our local community but also within Poland and the surrounding countries and bring the light of Jesus to a world searching for hope beyond hope.
